Installation Process
Site Preparation
Once we have cleared the space of all unwanted plant matter, we will begin mapping out your new landscape by grading your yard, establishing pathways and planning any necessary drainage.
Irrigation
A good irrigation plan is essential for any landscape to thrive, whether your project requires drip irrigation, sprinklers or a combination, we want to ensure you are able to enjoy the beauty of your new landscape for seasons to come.
Removal
The first step in any landscape installation process is preparing the ground for your plants to thrive in their new environment for years to come by removing grass, invasive weeds, and other unwanted plants.
Hardscape
If your design includes any stonework, this is the first element to be installed. We take great care in boulder selection and placement, integrating each stone into your landscape both naturally and artfully. Our team is skilled at cutting and laying flagstone pathways, granite boulders, and dry stacked retaining walls.
Planting
Arguably our favorite phase of any project! This is when we begin to see your landscape come to life.

“I also want to thank you for finding Abby for us in time to fit us into her schedule. I am really enjoying working with her and appreciate her aesthetic insights, resourcefulness, and problem-solving, and this project definitely has had that, her combination of flexibility and decisiveness and decision making, and how well organized she is. Her team have been wonderful to work with, and the collaborators she brought in. She’s also an excellent communicator and that has been great.”

“Maidenhair was great to work with. They developed a design, picked plantings based on our conversations, and delivered a phased plan that I can implement over time. They installed the first phase and really did a nice job. Good communication and great work. I appreciate their deeper knowledge of plants, and sensitive approach to the landscape and the work. I highly recommend them!

“I have the *Magical* garden sanctuary I always dreamed of! I was so lucky to meet Abby the artist and the mighty (and jovial!) ladies of Maidenhair, they breathed a whole new life into every corner of my yard, like a vibrant painting full of native and fragrant plants. The layout is so pleasing and Abby planned it all so that the blooms and smells span the whole year. The garden will also invite all kinds of new wildlife! I could not have hoped for a lovelier crew and a more beautiful transformation of my outdoor home.”
